Kindergarten Library News

Dear Parents,

The Kindergarten students will soon be borrowing library books from the school library.  This is very exciting for them!  There are a few items that need to be addressed before books can start to go home.  Please take a moment to read the “rules” that we have, sign the form below & send it back to school with your child.  When all the forms come back signed the students will then bring home a library book.

If you have any questions, please send in a note.

                                                                        Thank you,

                                                                        Mrs. Conway

1)    Each student will be allowed to borrow one library book a week

2)   Library books are borrowed for one week only!

3)   If a student forgets to bring back a library book, they cannot borrow another

4)   If the library book is 4 weeks late a note will go home.  Parents must sign & return the note to school the next school day!

5)   If the library book cannot be found the parent must replace the book in a timely manner

a.     If the book was a paperback book a NEW paperback book must be bought.

b.     If the book was a hardcover book a NEW hardcover book must be bought.

**A used book from home is not accepted!**

6)   If a book is damaged the parent must replace the book with a new book (see “a” and “b” above).

7)   Students will not be allowed to borrow books over long vacations.  Please make every attempt to return books before school or family vacations.

Some helpful hints:

*** Mrs. McGrath has a “library return” bucket in her classroom so the students can return their book any day of the week.

***Friday is Library Day!!!  It is also gym day.  I have yet to see a student forget to wear their gym uniform.  Remember…sneakers & books go together!  Don’t forget to ask your child on Fridays if they have their library book.

I’m looking forward to a great year with your children.  Any questions or concerns please feel free to send in a note.
